Uncle Deelan,

Greeting from Corvus in the Tachikar System. I trust this communication find you well. I wanted to thank you again for your trust in releasing me for duty so soon in my training. I will do my best for you, the family, the Council, and the Republic.
We have assembled quite a group here, and it appears a good one. Upon arriving on planet, the Tachikar Parliament meet with us immediately, requesting our assistance. It seems a Republic Army weapons factory specializing in blaster rifles was recently taken over by a group of pirates. They were so successful in covering up their operation that if not for a young private Tarkin who managed to escape, no one would have known a thing. This Tarkin seems a remarkable young man. One to watch, I think.
I am glad to report that we were able to recover the base with no losses to either side. The pirates’ fighting force was primarily composed of battle droids and one destroyer droid, possibly purchased from some fragment of the Trade Federation. They were no real problem, and the prisoners taken in the attack were freed, and three of the pirates still on the planet were turned over to the Tachikar Parliament for disciplinary action.
As a reward for our assistance, the Parliament allowed the group to keep whatever of the pirates’ equipment, etc. that we might find. Amazingly, this consisted of a somewhat modified light freighter and two Z-95 Headhunter starfighters. With the group’s permission, I have claimed one of the two starfighters for personal transport, if the need should arise.
Things have settled a bit, and returning to our main purpose for being here, I did feel that one of the Tachikar Parliament, a Ceran representative named Lo-Ta of the Gordeen Province here on Corvus, had some sensitivity to the Force. I was not yet able to determine if this was just a latent ability or something more, but I shall report any further developments.
Look for future reports uncle, and may the Force be with you.

Uncle Deelan,

It has been only a few days since my last letter, but it seems this somewhat out-of-the-way system is a bit more lively than originally thought. You are already familiar with these happenings, I’m sure, as a full report has been filed with the Jedi Council. However, for my own records and meditations, as well as the family archives, I am putting it all down in this letter to you.
Once again, we were called in to the council chambers, in this case we were met by only one of the council members, specifically Liaison Anto Vilardi. There had been some murders reported in one of the mining colonies on the outermost planet, the huge rock they call Tachikar V. These murders were unusual as it seemed a lightsaber was used to decapitate the victims. The Jedi Council had been advised of this fact by the representatives here. The miners had fled the area, and were waiting for someone to investigate.
Some of our original group had other business to attend to, so us three Jedi, Rulfarr the Wookie, and “Dodger” used the newly aquired small freighter (now claimed by Rulfarr) to go to Tachikar V and root out the problem.
This trip proved to be somewhat more strenuous than the last. Once we had entered the tunnel complex used by this group of miners, we discovered that someone had somehow gotten a group of Gamorreans into the place. Unfortunately, they were somewhat inclined towards violence, our Jedi Consular was only able to sway one of them to not attack, but he was in turned killed by his compatriots when he attempted to convince them of our peaceful intent. We were forced to kill all of the Gamorreans we encountered.
We finally discovered the main source of the murders. It seems an individual sensitive to the Force had joined the mining company a few weeks before. He was without formal training, one we refer to as a Force Adept, and had turned to the Dark Side. He found an ancient lightsaber while digging and for some reason began his murdering spree. We tracked him down through the tunnels and were successful in removing the danger. The lightsaber and remains were sent to the Jedi Council, and this is the main source of our information on this individual.
On another note, there were some hard lessons taught in this excursion, but I wonder if they were learned. I had questions from the start about the Consular Padawan the Jedi Council sent here with us, for he carries a blaster pistol along with his lightsaber. I could never figure out why a Jedi would put his faith in such a clumsy, random weapon. In this mission, we found out just how clumsy and random it is, too. I was very nearly hit by a shot from his blaster when he fired at a Gamorrean I was engaged with. Later he himself was hit and almost killed by a shot from “Dodger” when he was fighting the Dark Adept. Only quick application of a Medpack stabilized him and kept him alive. I do hope this lesson was learned, as these two incidents put the entire group in danger, and in the future similar occurrences could cause us to fail in whatever task we are engaged in. However, in discussions with the others I fear it was not, so I will attempt to use caution not only with my enemies, but with my allies as well.
Until next time, may the Force be with you.
