Alternate RPG Campaign Setting
Overview
by Richard Spake
1.) Starfleet is a Military Organization.
Starfleet personnel are first and foremost both explorers and
warriors who take their dual duties as explorers and defeders
very seriously. Please note before your knees jerk about
Starfleet being a military organization, please remember that
military organizations are not inherantly evil, only the
politicians who control their activities can be considered evil
when it is THEY who are the ones who set military policy.
Starfleet is devoted to the peaceful expansion of the Federation
through exploration of unexplored space, but is also devoted to
the defense of the Federation, it's citizens, and allies.
-- A.) Starfleet is divided
into Operational Commands, and they are; Galaxy
Exploration Command, Military Operations Command, Merchant Marine
Support Command, Colonization and Terraforming Operations Support
Command, ect.
-- B.) Starfleet Marine
Corps. The Starfleet Marine Corps act as the core of the
Federation's frontline ground combat forces that are pulled form
the Local Defense Forces of individual Federation memebers.
-- C.) Starfleet Armed
Response Teams (ART) have become the defacto Special
Forces of Starfleet, and every Starfleet Vessels maintains one
team that is composed of personnel drawn form each department
onboard and provided with extensive training by the ship's
Security Department (much like the Rapid Response Forces in the
LUG Trek books).
-- D.) Starfleet has kept
many of the same traditions and ideals of the old sailing navies
of the late-19th and 20th centuries of Terra.
---- 1.) A member of the
Starfleet Marine Corps stands guard at each of the
Turbolift doors that lead onto a Starships bridge, a Marine guard
stands watch at the door to the Captian's and VIP Quarters, and
an armed Marine guard acts as an escort for the Captian and VIPs
while they are embarked onboard Starfleet Vessels.
---- 2.) The Captian's
Yeoman has become the captian's administrative assistant
who takes care of the all of the paperwork that is nessary to
keep a ship running. The duties and responsiblities of the
Captian's Yeoman has become more indepth than they where since
they have become more involved with the day-to-day runing and
administration of the ship itself. The Captian's Steward handles
the more of a 'My-Man-Friday' by preparing meals and laying out
the Captian's uniforms and other attire, co-ordinating with the
Captian's Yeoman to plan the Captian's daily routine, and pretty
much anything else that needs to be done. Both the Captian's
Yeoman and the Captian's Steward have quarters that are
accessable form the "Captian's Passage" (in fact the
Captian's Steward possess a 'Steward's Pantry' that is part of
the Captian's living area that is actually a small room that can
be used as both a quarters and food prepreation area that is a
foyer to their own Quarters since the Captian's Steward has the
same hours as the Captian- thus always on call).
The Captian's quarters inculde (but are not limited to);
Captian's 'In-Port' Stateroom, Captian's 'Underway' Stateroom,
the Captian's Wardroom, the Captian's Galley, the Captian's
Formal Dinning Room, and the Captian's Lounge. All of these
spaces are connected by the "Captian's Passage" that
provides a private access route to the Captian's Ready Room, and
form there the Bridge.
---- 3.) The Senior
Starfleet Non-Commissioned Officer (Enlisted Personnel)
is refered to as either the "Chief of the Boat" or
"Ship's Bosun," while the Senior Starfleet Marine Corps
Non-Commissioned Offircer (Enlisted Personnel) is refered to as
"Gunny" as a sign of respect by both Officer and
Enlisted personnel.
---- 4.) Each Starfleet
vessel has it's own unique logo and crest that is
utilized in patches and emblems related to it's operations. The
logo is found on plates, cups, glasses, pactches, uniforms,
clothes, and patches that are worn on the right sleave of the
standard duty uniforms at the discretion of the ship's commanding
officer.
---- 5.) The ship's mess
facilities are as follows;
------ A.) The Captian's
Mess: The Captian's and VIP Mess is full service with
real food prepared for each and every meal (unless other wise
specified).
-------- 1.) The Captian's
Formal Dinning Room: Used for extremely formal
occassions; such as ambassadorial banquets, first contact
dinners, ect. The Captian's Formal Dinning Room is very rarely
used onboard most Starfleet vessels, and many captian's find
other uses for the space while not in use.
------ B.) Officer's
Wardroom: The Officers Wardroom is full service replimat
with real food prepared on request. The Officer's Wardroom is
used by the ship's commissioned officers, their familes and their
guests.
------ C.) Cheif's Mess: The
Non-Commissioned Officer's wardroom. The Chief's Mess is a
semi-full service Replimat where some real food prepreation is
undertaken. Used by the Ship's non-commissioned officer's (E-7 to
E-9), their families, and their guests.
------ D.) Forward Galley:
The forward galley is a self-service replimat primarily used by
on-duty enlisted personnel (E-1 to E-6).
------ E.) Aft Galley:
The aft galley is a semi-full service replimat that also serves
some prepared real foods. The aft galley is used by enlisted
personnel, their familes, and their guests.
------ F.) The Ship's
Lounge/Bar: The ship's lounge/bar is a full-service
dining facility that may, or may not bar personnel form wearing
their uniforms since the location is ment to be a place to get
way from the stresses of the daily grind of what ever tasks
preformed that day. Many see ranks and unifroms as
counter-productive to this, and bar them all together. The host
of the ship's lounge/bar answers to the ship's captian through
the ship's counselor in an attempt to give the captian more
insight into the psyche of the ship's crew. Many Starfleet
vessels have civilian contractors who work in, and operate the
ship's lounge/bar. Other vessels allow off-duty personnel to
manage, and work instead.
2.) There is more than just one Starfleet Academy.
Each of the founding memebers of the United Federation of Planets
has a major Starfleet Acadmey campus located on their homeworld
(Terra, Vulcan, Centauri, Tellar, and Andor), and several other
major coreworlds that have joined the Federation have just
recently been allowed to open Starfleet Acadmey campuses
(Betazed, Bolarus IX, and the Trill Homeworld). The most
prestigious Starfleet Academy is located at San Fransico,
California, United States of America (Terra). Each of the
Starfleet Academies has a training starship that has served
diligently and honourably in Starfleet until the wear and tear on
it's superstructure has forced it's retirement form active duty.
The most common Starship type that has been slated for his kind
of assignment has been the Constellation-class Explorer.
-- A.) Several of the major
colony worlds have been allowed to open Starfleet Academy annexes
for the academy located on their homeworlds. The most famous of
these colonial academies is the facilities used by the Starfleet
Marine Corps Academy located on Mars.
3.) The Federation still uses money (called the
Federation Credit). The five strongest ecconomies
ironcly are the orignal founders of the Federation, while the new
members such as Bolarus IX and the Trill homeworld have caught up
with the rest of the Core Worlds by leaps and bounds and will
challenge their dominance in ecconomic and political affairs soon
enough.
-- A.) The Federation Stock
Exchange. The Federation Stock Exchange has undergone
multiple changes to adapt and evolve to new technologies in it's
long history. The introduction of Sub-Space Communications has
allowed the Federation Stock Exchange to allow the trade with the
neighoring foreign powers.
-- B.) Replicators and the
Ecconomy. The Federation has established a strong
ecconomy that has remained quite diverse and vibrant through-out
it's history, and the invention of the Replicator almost caused
the ecconomy to enter a major recession. To counter this, the
Federation has limited access to Replicators to goverenment
contorlled outlets (such as Starfleet and Public Services/Works
Agencies). While the replicator has all but eliminated the pains
of poverty by allowing the local planetary governments to provide
the most basic needs of their poorest of citizens. Everything
past the basic needs to survive that cannot be replicated must be
worked for and earned (luxary goods, and real food for example).
4.) Many of the FASA Trek Starships exist in the
Orginal Series Movie Era, as does much of the more
fameous starship histories as well. I have extended this form the
histroy formed by the many FASA Trek Campaigns my old gaming
group and myself have created. In fact one of the more
interesting Akira-class has been named the USS Blackheart in
honour of the missing Chandley-class Frigate of the same name.
-- A.) The Klingon
Brel-class Bird of Prey and the K'vort-class Crusiers
were
originally joint-Romulan/Klingon designs (as per the orginal
concept form Star Trek III: the Search for Spock, and FASA Trek)
that was built during the brief Romulan-Klingon technology
exchanges that gave the Klingons cloaking devices and the
Romulans Warp Drive. Both the Klingons and the Romulans use
starships that have been based on this same structural design,
but neither side wishes to admit that either side had anything to
do with it's origin.
-- B.) The Romulans use more
than one Warship design, and their warship
classification is as follows; Warbirds are Starships-of-the-Line
(Dreadnoughts, Battleships, and Battlecruisers); Bird of Preys
are their mid-ranged warships that make up the bulk of their
fleets (Heavy Crusiers, Crusiers, and Frigates); and Stormbirds
are primariliy smaller warships (Destroyers, Gunboats, and
Escorts).
-- C.) Starfleet has had a
very limited number of Dreadnoughts in it's inventory,
and up until 2365 the three remaining Dreadnoughts where
mothballed in orbit around the Trition (a moon of Neptune in the
Sol System). With the on set of first the Klingon-Federation War
and the Dominion War Starfleet was forced to reserrected the
classification of Dreadnought. In fact, the new Allaince-class
Dreadnought is actaully a refit of the Galaxy-class Explorers as
seen in "All Good Things..." Before the Allaince-class,
Starfleet had the Kirov-class Dreadnought (2291-2322,
reclassified as Heavy Cruiser in 2322 and still in service), the
Adamant-class Heavy Dreadnought (2285-2312, reclassified as Heavy
Crusier in 2312 and still seen in limited service), the
Federation-class Dreadnought (2261-98), and the Napoleon-class
Dreadnought (2224-54).
5.) The USS Enterprise-E remains as the flagship of
the Federation, but has undergone several chages. While
she has remained one of the prestegious commands in Starfleet,
the Enterprise-E has become one of the most highly visible
Starfleet ships. It's presence has become required at many
'showing the flag' missions, and the location of the signing of
membership for new or prespective Federation members (as seen in
Star Trek: Insurrection).
-- A.) Picard has been
promoted to Rear-Admrial due to the losses of the
Dominion War. He has retained the Enterprise-E as his 'flagship'
and kept much of it's senior staff onboard as perks of being
promoted to flag rank. Picard has excepted the unoffical title as
a Federation Ambassador-without-Portfoilio, thus allowing him
more power to speak as a voice for the Federation Council.
-- B.) William Thomas Riker
was promoted to Captian in 2374 and given command of the
USS Hornet (Steamrunner-class). Under the command of Captian
Riker, the Hornet became one of the most fameous of the
Steamrunner-class Heavy Frigates and earned a place of honour in
Starfleet history. His ability to command the Hornet under
adverse conditions proved to Starfleet Command that Picard was
right to request his return to the Enterprise-E as it's
Commanding Officer.
-- C.) Geordi LaForge was
promoted to Commander in 2374 and assigned as Riker's
first officer onboard the USS Hornet (please note that LaForge
served as the Hornet's first officer and chief engineer at the
same time). Riker was able to bring LaForge back to the
Enterprise-E as First Officer. It is rumored that Commander
LaForge is next to be promoted to the Captian's List, and has
been slected to become one of the canidates to command the USS
Challenger (Galaxy-class).
-- D.) Data. Promoted to
Commander in 2374 and transfered to a joint Starfleet
and Daystrom Institute Research and Development project that
would allow the 'Spartacian' androids to offically join the
United Federation of Planets as full members, and prove that
members of their race should be allowed to join Starfleet. Cmdr.
Data will soon assume the positon as the new currator of Memory
Alpha.
-- E.) Dr. Beverly Chursher
was promoted to Captian in 2374, and almost excepted a
transfer and posting as the new head of Starfleet Medical.
Instead Dr. Beverly Chrusher has decided to remain onboard the
USS Enterprise-E as Rear-Admiral Picard's personal physican.
-- F.) Deanna Troi, assigned
temparily to the Pathfinder Project to assist Lt.
Reginald Barclay with what was feared to be a relapse of his
Holo-Addiction. Returned to the Enterprise-E as the Ship's
Counselor with a weighty letter of commendation form Admiral
Paris himself, and has begun to discuss marriage plans with
Captain William T. Riker.
6.) Deep Space Nine still remains as a major
location in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, and Starfleet still
maintains a major presence on the Station. With Sisko listed as
MIA, Captian Taggart has been given command of the station by
order of Admiral Ross.
-- A.) Fleet Captian Ben
Sisko (hero of the Dominion War, and 'Emissary to the
Bajoran people') is still Missing-in-Action, and rumured to have
been assassinated by the deranged fromer Cardassain dictator Gul
Dukat. The people of Bajor have paid alot of attention to their
"Emissary's" loved ones, in fact they have made it a
point to see that their every need can be taken care of (covertly
of course).
---- 1.) Kassidy
Yates-Sisko. Kassidy Yates-Sisko, the pregnate wife of
Ben Sisko still retains control of the day-to-day activities of
her rapidly growing shipping company that has had to expand to
three seperate freighters in the past three months. One of these
freighters (a Cardassian -class Bulk Freighter) was a gift of the
new Cardassain Union's government (a gift form Garak to honour
everything Sisko had done for him).
---- 2.) Jake Sisko.
Jake Sisko and his step-mother have taken much effort to build
Ben Sisko's 'dream house' on the land he had purchased on Bajor.
The Bajorian government has assisted these efforts by covering
alot of the costs themselves through 'donations' by the Bajoran
citizens. On a personal note, Jake Sisko's career as a writer has
taken off in the Bajorian Sector, and to a limited extent in the
rest of the Federation as well.
-- B.) Colonel Kira Nerys.
Colonel Kira still pines for her lost love, Odo. And desprately
seeks any information on his well-being, the rumours that the
Dominion has erupted into a bloody civil war has terrifed her to
no end. On a side note, Col. Kira is haveing to deal with the new
Starfleet commander of Deep Space Nine.
-- C.) Dr. Julian Bashir.
Bashir was to have been promoted to the rank of Lt. Commander,
but things have occured that have blocked this promotion form
happening. Due to the decision that allowed Dr. Bashir to remain
in Starfleet there have been several humans who had undergone
Genetic Resequenceing that have been able to force the Federation
Supreme Court to overturn Starfleet's ban against humans who have
undergone Genetic Resequenceing or Genetic Engineering form
Service. Currently, Starfleet is fighting this ruling with all
it's worth and attempting to 'invite' Dr. Bashir to gracefully
take the hint and resign his commission in Starfleet. But
fortunately, Bashir has decided to stay and fight for his and
others right to serve in Starfleet with honour and dignity.
-- D.) Ezri Dax.
Ezri Dax and Julian Bashir have been planing their upcoming
nupituals in spite of the attempts by many in Starfleet Command
to force Julian to quitely resign his commission.
-- E.) Worf.
Promoted to the rank of Commander and appointed as the Federation
Ambassador to the Klingon Empire. Worf has become deeply involved
in Klingon power politics in the Klingon High Council almost the
second he was appointed as the new Federation Ambassador to the
Klingon Empire.
---- 1.) Alexander Rozhenko.
Now a Lieutenant onboard a Klingon Brel-class Bird of
Prey, Alexander has found his niche in the Klingon Defense Forces
as an excellent Operations Officer. Lt. Rozhenko's ability to
logically deduct problems and find solutions has greatly
impressed his commanders where his lack of combat abilities had
left them wanting.
---- 2.) Jeremy Aster.
Jeremy Aster, Worf's adopted son, has entered Starfleet and
attempting to follow in his mother's and adopted fathers
footsteps. But unlike their career path, Ensign Aster has choosen
to follow his own path as a Sciences Officer. Ens. Aster has been
assigned for his first tour of duty to sceintific mission to
explore the Dyson Sphere (Dyson Base).
-- F.)
Quark. Quark remains as the proprietor and owner of
"Quark's Bar" still operates as he always has. The only
real changes that has occured has been that he has been able to
use his postion as the head of the Promenade Merchant's
Assocation to his advantage and gain an offical voice in how the
operations of the station is carried out.
-- G.) Rom. The new
Grand Nagus has caused a major societal, cultural, and
ecconomical upheavials in the Ferengi Allaince that has caused
many reactionaries to rally against him and his reforms.
Starfleet Intelligence fears a corporate shadow war for contorl
of the Ferengi Allaince that will be the forerunner of a long,
and drawn out civil war against the hardliners and the reformers.
-- H.) Odo. While
Odo did return and heal the "Great Link" he was unable
to convence the entire 'Great Link' to stop it's attacks against
the 'soilds' and change their ways. Odo and many other Founders
have been cast out of the 'Great Link' along with many Vorta and
Jem'Hidar who have choosen to follow their ideals. The 'Great
Link' has dubbed Odo as the 'Dark God' and his followers 'the
Fallen' and ordered that the Jem'Hidar kill everyone that Odo and
'the Fallen' have touched and influenced. This single order has
turned the once powerful Dominion against itself and begun a
bloody civil war of major preportions where entire planets and
races have been wiped out of existance.
-- I.) Miles O'Brien.
OCS, and become a Commissioned Officer. Promoted to the rank of
full Lieutenant due to his experince and ability, Lt. O'Brien was
one of the first new instructors at the rebuilt San Fransico
facilities of Starfleet Academy: Terra. Lt. O'Brien's lectures
and classes have become known for his no-nonsence and hands
on-style of teaching his students, and become known as one of the
most popular classes on campus.
-- J.) Nog. Nog was
promoted to Lieutenant, Junior Grade by Fleet Captian Sisko prior
to his dispearence. Lt,jg. Nog has assmued the duties vacated by
O'Brein as Deep Space Nine's Chief of Operations, but this
postion is percarious at best since Captian Taggart has expressed
his desire that each of his department heads be of the rank of
Lieutenant Commander or higher. The fact that Nog has impressed
Captian Taggart with his ability to aquire nessary iteams for
Station operation has assured him a most valued place on the
station no matter what Taggart decides to do (Colonel Kira has
stated that she heard Taggart mutter something to the effect that
he "had a soft spot for that damned canny little
Ferengi...").
7.) Chancellor Martog's attempts to reform the Klingon
Empire have come up against stern opposition in the
Klingon High Council, but have been well recieved and supported
by the populance and the Klingon Emperor. This division between
memebers of the Klingon High Council has caused much strife and
friction that has caused many more problems than meets the eye.
-- A.) Chancellor Martog has created a new Klingon
House for his close freind and ally the House of Worf.
The new House of Worf has much policial, ecconomic, and social
power that has granted Worf one of the most powerful seats on the
Klingon High Council since it has created such a powerful
political voting block with the assistance of several other
Klingon Houses that had recently suffered severely under the
reign of Chancellor Gowron.
-- B.) The return of the
Druas sisters, who some how survied the destruction of
their Brel-class Bird of Prey at the hands of then-Commander
Riker, to the Klingon High Council much to the displeasure of
both Chancellor Martog and Ambassador Worf. The return of the
House of Druas has brought about many more problems for Martog's
reforms since the Druas sisters have publicly supported many of
the reforms (such as the exceptance of females as equals to males
in Klingon inheritance laws, and public service), while standing
in the way of many other of Martog's reforms.
-- C.) With the the Klingon
Empire's rapidly deterating state of affairs, many of
the subject races have decided to take advantage of the losses
suffered at the hands of the Dominion by the Klingon Defense
Forces.
8.) Relations with the Romulan Star Empire
have greatly improved with the offical end of the Dominion War
since a more moderate Preator has assumed the leadership of the
Star Emprie. The attempts as Vulcan-Romulan Unification have
failed, but they have sparked an interest in a 'reunion' as it
where where cultural exchanges have been supported by the Preator
and those families that have formed his governing coalition in
the Romulan Senate.
-- A.) The Tal Shiar was
crippled by the joint efforts with the Obsidian Order to wipe out
the Founders supposed homeworld, and has had to evolve into an
intelligence gathering and counter-intelligence agency at the
expense of it's secret police duties.
-- B.) Romulan expatriots
who have settled in the United Federation of Planets have been
allowed to reestablish communications with their realitives who
remained in the Romulan Star Empire.
-- C.) A stately older
Romulan Senator and a Dominion War Hero begin working
together to create a more open interpretation of the Way of D'era
that is ment to elevate other races to the same level as the
Romulans themselves.
9.) The reconstruction of the Cardassian Union
continues with the Federation bearing the bulk of the burdon
since neither the Romulans nor the Klingons have the resources to
spare at this time.
-- A.) Garak. Garak
has started to rebuild the Cardassian Government as it was
orginally ment to be, and become the major power behind the
throne as it where. He has elevated the Gul who ordered his ship
to fire against the Dominion forces during the cricial battle
that allowed the Allaince forces to break the Dominion Line and
rush to the aide of Cardassia Prime.
10.) Bajor is not, and probly will never be,
a member of the United Federation of Planets. For several
reasons, they are not limtied to those that follow;
-- A.) The new Kai has
passed an idict that all Bajorans in Starfleet are to return to
Bajor to become the crew of the first Bajoran built-warp drive
starship. Those Bajorans that fail to, or refuse to, return to
Bajor are excumicated form Bajor for the rest of their lives, and
if they are to break this and return they face the penalty of
death for their violation of the Kai's edict.
-- B.) Many Bajorans
see joining the Federation as trading one oppressor for another,
and they fear that becomeing part of the Federation will slow the
ecconomic growth they have enjoyed since the Cardassian
Occupation was lifted, and the discovery of the Wormhole has
brought about.
-- C.) Alot of Bajorans
see the effects from the aftermath of the Dominion War, and the
"Emissary of the Prophets" being called to reside in
the Celestial Temple as a sign that the Bajoran people must step
out on their own and prosper instead of being forced to rely on
the aide of outsiders. These Bajorans state that when the
Emissary returns, and tells them that it is the will of the
Prophets that Bajor join the Federation then, and only then, will
they support such a movement.
11.) There are several disident Vulcan colonies
throuhout the Frontier's of the Federation where Vulcans have
embraced their emotional natures instead of pretending that they
don't posses them (or supressing them). These colonies have
embraced some of the pre-Surak aspects of Vulcan culture.
-- A.) One of these colonies has become
the home of a large population of expatriot Romulans who have
merged with the Vulcans to create an entirely new culture that
has taken the best aspects of both Vulcan and Romulan culture and
evoloved into an entirely new one.
12.) The United Earth Republic. Please note
that Terra (the Earth) is not a single unified republic, but a
federal republic where each of the indiviual member states still
retain much of their sovereignty (primarily their rights to build
and maintain colonies and military forces). Each member state has
unified under a 'federal' government to act as a single voice to
speak on the behalf of the Earth as a whole in a manner very much
simular to that of the United Federation of Planets (in fact many
observers form other races have stated that Earth has become a
microcosm of the Federation itself).
-- A.) The Captiol of Terra
is located in Geneva, Switzerland. While each state and colony
maintains 'Federal Houses' that are where the day-to-day
government business is carried out located ususally near each
captiol and/or major population centers.
-- B.) Each of the states on
Terra (Earth) have kept and maintained small armed
forces that have kept the traditions and histories of their
respective military achievements alive and well. These armed
forces are organized to operate together under the control of the
Terran Defense Forces (that is in turn controlled by the
Confederate Security Council). All warfare between memeber states
has been outlawed since the formation of the Unifed Earth
Repbulic, disputes between member states is carried out through
long drawn out judical hearings and settlements.
-- C.) Some of the major
Terran States are; the United States of North America,
the European Hegemony (a coalition of the European states
dominated by the Ninth Republic of France, the United Kingdome of
the British Isles, and the Federal Republic of Germany), the
Union of Sovereign Northern Republics, the Scandinavian Bloc, the
Commonwealth of Azania, the United Arabic Republics, the United
Republics of India, the Federal Republic of Australia, the
Imperial Republic of Japan, the Imperial Repulic of Manchuria,
and the Republic of Argentina.
13.) There are an unlimited number of Parallel
Universes that exist that are on par with the
Mirror-Mirror Universe (and i should note that mine is one of
these since the Canon Star Trek Universe exists as doese each of
your own Trek Campaigns). A few of them are as follows since they
have been 'visited' by my campaign.
-- A.) The Borg, Part Two.
Even though the Enterprise-D defeated the Borg with the aide of
Captian Picard, they could not rescue the captian of the flagship
of the Federation. Captian William T. Riker promotion and
assignment as the commanding officer of the Flagship of the
Federation was confrimed by Starfleet Command and the Federation
Council. Captian Riker now commands the Enterprise-E (a
Sovereign-class), after the Enterprise-D was destroyed during the
Dr. Sorin Debacle.
-- B.) The Mirror Universe,
II. Spock did not replace Kirk, thus the Terran Emprie
never fell due to it becoming to weak to stand against it's
enemies. But Mirrior Kirk became obsessed with conquering the
Universe he had glimpsed, and was able to get enough of the
Imperial Starfleet High Command to follow his lead. This parallel
is for a TOS-Movie Era Campaign.
14.) Starfleet Battles. Some of the Races
form Task Force Games "Starfleet Battles" exist in my
Star Trek Campaign.
-- A.) Kzinti. Kzin
Space is divided as follows; Kzin Patarichary (4 core systems,
and 8 old colony systems). Kzin Protectorate (24 systems that had
been surrendered to the Federation after the 4th Man-Kzin war in
2263, admitted into the Federation as memeber in 2335).
-- B.) Lyrans. A
new threat race that will be using the aftermath of the Dominion
War to further their own agenda. An off-shoot of the Kzin much
like the Caitians, the Lryans have
-- C.) Hydrans.
Another new threat race that will be using the aftermath of the
Dominion War to further their own agenda.
-- D.) Cygians. In
Starfleet Battles, these guys helped found the Federation. But in
my setting, the Cygians are one of the first races to be invited
to join the UFP, and is the location of one of the most
prestigious of the Starfleet Engineering Academies.
-- E.) The Klingon Subject
Races. The subject races of the Klingon Empire form
"Starfleet Battles" exist in my Campaign as do several
races of my own design.
15.) Captian James T. Kirk did not die at
Veridian III, a nexus clone was the one that had fell to it's
death instead. The Real James T. Kirk emerged form the Nexus
several days after the crew of the Enterprise-D was rescued. Six
weeks later the Starfleet Corps of Engineers Salvage Teams found
Captian Kirk living in the remains of the Enterprise-D and
brought him back to Earth where he was hailed as a galactic hero.
16.) The New Frontier Novels. While i like
the concept of the New Frontier, and love Peter David's
writing... New Frontier has left me with a bad taste in my
mouth... Here are the changes i have done.
-- A.) Captian Mackineze
Calhoune is a Human male, who is form a failed colony
(it failed because it was occupated by the Danteri).
-- B.) There IS NO GREAT
BIRD OF THE GALAXY, nor is Morgan Lefler an Immortal.
-- C.) The Thallonian
Alliance (ne Empire) under Chancellor Yoz is trying to
reassurt contorl on the remians of the territories of the former
Thallonian Empire. Basicly, how most post-revolutionary
governments have acted.
